The Wireless Dynamics Sensor System (WDSS) combines a 3-axis accelerometer, an altimeter, and a force sensor into one unit that communicates wirelessly with your computer or LabQuest 2 using Bluetooth® wireless technology.
Use the WDSS with your Bluetooth-enabled computer and Logger Pro software, or with your LabQuest 2, to collect data free of friction due to cables. Internal data storage capacity allows you to use it as a stand-alone data logger, making it great for roller coaster physics. In addition, you can use the WDSS to do traditional experiments that you do with conventional accelerometers and force sensors.
The WDSS can be used alone, with one or more additional WDSS units, or with other Vernier interfaces. The WDSS does not require an interface unless the experiment requires the use of other sensors that are not included in the unit itself. Here are some common combinations:
- Two WDSS units connected by Bluetooth to a single computer for Newton’s Third Law experiments.
- A WDSS used with a Vernier interface, Motion Detector (MD-BTD), and a Dual-Range Force Sensor (DFS-BTA) for impulse-momentum experiments.
- A WDSS with a Vernier interface and a Dual-Range Force Sensor (DFS-BTA) for Newton’s Third Law experiments.
- A WDSS, a Go!Motion (GO-MOT), and a Vernier Dynamics Cart und Track System (DTS) create an elegant impulse-momentum experiment setup.
